JaxCo Raises Over $1,000 for Mattress Donation Fund

Posted by Duval on Feb 1st 2019

On January 19th, 2019 JaxCo Furniture held its Grand Opening party for friends and family. The evening was a celebration of hard work and anticipation of future expectations. If the amount of fun we had is an indicator of our future success, we’re in for a blast in 2019!

The JAX Chamber of Commerce was kind enough to let JaxCo borrow the giant scissors and allow us to have a ribbon cutting ceremony. That kicked the night off with some excitement!

A phenomenal array of food was catered by some of our favorite local eateries. Sierra Grille provided a tasty taco bar as well as all the other dip, chips, and fixins’ that go along with it. Angie’s Subs and Sun Deli added savory sandwich spreads to the mix. And The Mini Bar rounded out the evening with boxes of delicious donuts.

A silent auction was held with donations from GORUCK, Black Hive Athletics, Back In Motion Injury and Wellness Center, Fred Rounsaville of North Florida Outfitters, as well as Meagan Vesta Photography. Additionally, raffle items were donated from Hotel Palms, Ruth’s Chris, MiniBar Donuts, Creative Grain Studios, Premier Handyman, Erika Kim Wellness, Matt Miller with ERA Heavener Realty, and Becky Loughridge of Salt Salon.

All monies raised go into JaxCo’s mattress donation program. Every month, JaxCo takes a portion of profits and invests it into the community. A percentage of profits is translated into mattresses and the mattresses are donated to families and veterans in need.

JaxCo works directly with organizations such as Team RWB and the VA to identify veterans in need. JaxCo also donates mattresses to Sponsored by Grace, a Jacksonville-based non-profit that, “exists to empower local children to rise up out of poverty to become leaders through the love and hope of Jesus Christ.” These organizations provide a direct link to the community that JaxCo helps serve.

The fundraising event was held for two reasons: 1) To celebrate the kickoff of something special with the people who mean the most to us and 2) To kickstart our mattress donation program. Over $1,000 was raised at the event! That money is going directly back into our community in the form of mattresses for those in need. We already have one veteran and a few families who are in need of new mattresses. We’re excited to be able to use those funds immediately!

JaxCo Furniture is officially open!
